Hands-on learning provides learning by doing, which helps students to acquire knowledge and skills outside of books and lectures. Learning can occur through work, play and other life experiences.Accomplished teachers include plenty of hands-on learning experiences, especially in science and math, to ensure student understanding of new and unfamiliar concepts. Hands-on learning can also be used for a way to make the students enjoy what they are learning. When students are involved they are much more likely to learn the information. During a science experiment students are much more likely to do well when they get to set up and do the experiment on their own rather than being shown it. Students enjoy being involved in their education.
Heather, I also agree that engaging children to actively learn helps them in acquiring information. I think that because all children learn in different ways it is essential that an educator uses various ways to teach.
ReplyDeleteYes, I don't think teachers use various ways of teaching enough and that is something I especially want to work toward for when I become a teacher.
